Landscape designing is the art of modifying the landscape or gardens to achieve beautiful and functional space for outdoor living. It is also known as landscape architecture or landscaping. A landscape designer can take projects like parks, gardens, sports sites, housing spaces, business parts, hospital campus, university campuses etc.  Landscape designer adds aesthetic value to space, through putting together different elements like gardens, ponds and even outdoor lights.  Landscaping also improves the environmental quality by its green designs. 

What are the roles and responsibilities for Landscape Architect?

  • Prepare site plans, specifications, or cost estimates for land development.
  • Prepare graphic representations or drawings of proposed plans or designs.
  • Coordinate with other professionals, such as contractors, architects, engineers, and plumbers, to ensure job success. 
  • Inspect the site to ensure its adherence to the design plans. 
  • Use computer-aided drafting (CAD) and related software to produce construction documents. 
  • Advise client on external space planning, layout and even use of gardens, ponds and even outside lightings.
  • Estimate material requirements and costs, and present design to client for approval.
